What To Get? (“we”, “us”) is a gift idea website at what-to-get.com. This page explains what information we collect and how we use it. In short: we collect very little.
What To Get? is run by its owner as an independent website. You can contact us at whattoget2026@gmail.com.
Your choices on the gift finder. Your budget, occasion, interests and who the gift is for are used in your browser to show ideas. We don’t store them or send them to us.
Your wishlist. If you save gifts, the list is stored in your own browser (local storage) on your device. We can’t see it, and it’s removed if you clear your browser data or press “Clear list”.
Suggestions you send us. If you use the suggestion box, we receive your message and your email address if you choose to give one. We use it only to consider your suggestion and to reply if you asked us to. Suggestions are sent through a form service that passes them to us, or through your own email app. We keep them only as long as we need them.
Visitor statistics. We use privacy-friendly analytics that count visits and pages viewed without cookies and without following you around the web.
Our site doesn’t set cookies of its own. When you click a link to a shop, that shop (and any affiliate network it uses, such as Amazon Associates, Awin or Etsy’s partners) may set cookies on your device so they can record that you came from us. We don’t control those cookies, so please see each company’s own privacy policy.
Some links are affiliate links. See our affiliate disclosure.
Under UK data protection law you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email us at whattoget2026@gmail.com. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
